The defending NBA champions enter the United Center on Wednesday night seeking a second consecutive victory, facing a Chicago Bulls team that has struggled to contain opponents at home. New York is a 7.5-point favorite in the latest market data, with the over/under set at 234.5 points. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, has identified a high-confidence play on the total.

The algorithm projects 238 combined points for the matchup, predicting the over will hit 56% of the time. This projection aligns with recent trends, as the over has hit in six of the last nine meetings between these two franchises. Chicago's defensive struggles are central to this outlook; the Bulls rank 30th in the league, allowing 129.5 points per game so far this season.

New York comes off a 111-97 win over Detroit on Tuesday, while Chicago fell 134-99 to Boston on Monday. The Knicks, who finished second in the Atlantic Division last season with a 53-29 record, are 1-3 overall and 0-1 on the road in 2026-27. The Bulls, who finished fourth in the Central Division at 31-51, are also 1-3 and have lost their only home game this season.

Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns lead the Knicks' offense. In four games this season, Brunson averages 22.8 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds. Towns contributes 22.5 points, 14 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. On the other side, Chicago relies on forward Caleb Wilson, who averages 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.8 steals in 34 minutes per game.

The SportsLine model has generated nearly $19,000 in profit for $100 players on its top-rated NBA picks since 2018, including five straight seasons of four-digit profit. Entering the second week of the 2026-27 season, the model is 26-10 on top-rated spread picks at NBA betting sites since the previous campaign.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The model's simulation suggests that one side of the spread hits well over 60% of the time, a statistic available through the projection system. The Knicks' strong start to the season contrasts with the Bulls' defensive rank, creating a financial opportunity for bettors monitoring the 234.5 point line.
