A 23-year-old resident of Givatayim was taken into custody on Saturday night following an altercation with the security detail of Naftali Bennett.

The incident occurred while Bennett attended a rally in Tel Aviv. The event focused on the establishment of a commission to investigate the failures that preceded the October 7 massacre.

Witnesses reported that the man, who had no prior criminal record, was under the influence of alcohol. He attempted to close the distance to Bennett while shouting "Only Bibi," a slogan supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Guards instructed the man to stay back, but he continued moving toward the center of the crowd. When a bodyguard pushed him back to maintain the perimeter, the man shoved the guard in return.

Security personnel subdued the suspect and held him at the park until police arrived. Officers transported him to a local station for questioning.

Investigators are currently reviewing the specific circumstances of the push. The arrest takes place just days before the 2026 Knesset elections, during which IDF soldiers have already cast ballots at military polling stations earlier this week.
